When it comes to werewolf films, one title always stands above the rest as not just one of the best of the werewolf genre, but also as one of the best films in the horror genre. John Landis created the perfect werewolf movie and it doesn't include silver bullets! It does however include an oddly cheerful soundtrack and ground-breaking practical effects AND it was even the first ever film to win the Academy Award for Best Make-Up which was a category that was created in 1981, the year of this film's release.
Bubba the Redneck Werewolf
Bubba the Redneck Werewolf is such a fun film, with brilliantly written comedy and fun pop-culture references. The film feels like a superhero flick with a hillbilly heart that sees a simpleton zero become the town hero.
Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman
Some kids today might not know it but before the live-action films with CGI chipmunks that sing popular pop songs, there was a classic kids cartoon series where the famous trio of chipmunks sang their own original songs. Alvin and the Chipmunks have had many adventures over the years. As a fan of Universal Monster movies, I had to eventually come across this animated feature film, along with its counterpart 'Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein'.
The Wolf Man (1941)
If you're a fan of the werewolf sub-genre of movies then you will undoubtedly know all of the classic tropes that have become somewhat stereotypical and predictable within most of them. Be it the werewolf's weakness for silver, the gypsy curse, or the classic poem that begins "Even a man who is pure in heart...". Well, those classic tropes all began with this classic film, and although this was not Universal's first Werewolf film, it was certainly the most popular.

Werewolf by Night – TV Special (2022)
Delving deeper into the darker side of Marvel, away from the heroes like Thor, Captain America and Iron-Man, we instead find ourselves attending a funeral for Ulysses Bloodstone. Attending his funeral, are various Hunters who have all come to pay their respects, but more importantly, to earn their rite to wield the legendary Blood Stone. Which grants hunters great strength and skill in battle. Also in attendance, is Ulysses' own flesh and blood. His daughter, Elsa Bloodstone has come to claim her birthright but even she has no clue of the strangest stranger among them.
Whilst filming on the set of a low-budget vampire movie in an abandoned manor, the cast and crew soon run into a rather gruesome situation after a run-in with a very real and very deadly werewolf! The only question is; Who is going to make it out of the manor alive?
Chainsaw Man – Episode 8
There was a fair bit of controversy surrounding the ending of the previous episode. However, I am personally still enjoying the series and it's characters. That being said, as we draw closer to the end of the first season, the story is getting more brutal.
Chainsaw Man – Episode 7
Remember in my review for episode one when I said that the gore would be a selling point for this series...well...I might have been wrong, in part at least, because this show really drives home one other element to the show and its characters that I will explain in this episode review without spoiling anything truly major.
