Plot:
Weary from their previous encounter with The Mayor, John and Rose set out to escape Whitechapel before anyone can hear of John’s little massacre. Injured from his many bullet wounds, John struggles to stay on his Mule and soon the pair seek shelter to give him time to heal.
Meanwhile, news of the massacre from the last issue travels fast throughout the land, meaning it isn’t long before the ‘military’ are on the tail of our desperate duo. Can they get to the Dead Forest in time or will they perish at the hands of the Coalition?
Art:
A lot of action in this issue once again, but this time there’s a lot more explosions. A new cast of characters appears that give off a Mad Max Psycho meets Joker vibe, with one known as Smiley even looking like a Joker-esque figure.

Overall:
We learn a little more about this world and it’s characters with each issue, and each issue leaves us on a cliffhanger, resulting in the reader wanting more. The anime-esque art style brings the characters and the world alive, with some of those characters evolving along the way. For instance, in issue 1, Rose felt like a damsel in distress whilst in this issue, she turns out to be quite the independent and confident heroine.
Each issue also allows us to see the team grow as the writing feels more fluent and the art certainly feels more refined as the story progresses. I have no doubt this team have a bright and promising future in comics, as they already have but more so in the future.
